Automatic Sitemap

The GoogleBot uses XML sitemaps to get directions on how to crawl your site. We automatically generate a sitemap for you at http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

You can give that sitemap to Google in your Webmaster Tools control panel.

Upload your own Sitemap

If you don't like the sitemap that we generate for you (it should be fine for everyone, and when you add or changes it automatically updates itself), you can override it with your own sitemap.

  1. Create an XML file, name it sitemap.xml, and upload it using the FileBrowser
  2. If it is important to you that the sitemap be located at http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml, you need to add a redirect. This step is OPTIONAL. See below for instructions.
  3. Add your sitemap to your webmaster tools account.

How to have your custom sitemap at http://www.yourdomain.com/sitemap.xml

Add a Redirect. In the from field, put /sitemap.xml and in the to field, put the URL of the file you uploaded. It should be something like /static/uploads/yoursite/sitemap.xml
